That spooktacular time of year is here once again. I absolutely love Halloween. The decorating, costumes, parties and trick or treaters make it such a fun time of year. What I don’t love is cleaning up after Halloween is over. Especially if you had your own party with friends, family, and neighborhood kids.
Although it’s plenty of fun, the house – ohhhh the house – may never be quite the same. Streamers, fake cobwebs and blood, candy wrappers and lots of other bits and pieces leaving stains on your couch, carpet and table tops. And don’t even get me started on what happens when someone spills a drink!

Flying Drink? Well it is Halloween – anything is possible! But with the right tools and cleaner, you will have that stain gone in no time. The best carpet stain remover will be tailored to what caused the stain, so be sure to research the stain before you start scrubbing. But regardless of what caused it, the first step is to gently blot it to try to remove as much of the stain as possible. Remember, never rub – that will only make matters worse.
Glass rings, sticky messes and other mysterious stains can wreak havoc with your countertops. But cleaning them isn’t as hard as you might think. Make a paste of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain and let sit for roughly five minutes, then rinse off with a soft cloth. Baking soda is a mild abrasive, so don’t scrub. Repeat if necessary.
You will be amazed at how much of a difference this will make in how your home smells. If it’s really warm (welcome to Louisiana!), just leave them open for short periods of time. Any amount of time will help.
